Iron catalysis for sustainable artificial transaminase-like borrowing hydrogen

Development of transamination reactions using borrowing hydrogen methodologies for a greener synthesis of amines and alcohols.

My name is Matteo Favre, PhD student working at DCM (UGA) and LCBM (CEA). I have obtained my master degree in organic synthesis at UGA in 2024 and I have always been interested in organic chemistry and in particular in the development of new methodologies. I am interested in this subject because it will enable a greener synthesis of numerous compounds containing amine and alcohol functions and for the development of performant catalysts for this purpose.

The collaboration with my two laboratories and the Labex Arcane will allow me to have a deep understanding of the project thanks to their knowledge in both organic and organometallic chemistry. Thanks to this collaboration, I will also be able to improve greatly my personal knowledge and skills in both these domains.

After I complete my PhD, I wish to obtain an academic position, and if possible to focus my research on catalysis.
