My work focuses on developing metallopeptide-based electrocatalysts capable of converting waste-derived nitrite into ammonia, offering a sustainable approach to generating valuable chemical resources.
My name is Samer, I am a PhD student working on a collaborative project between the DCM and SyMMES laboratories. During my internship in bioinspired catalysis for hydrogen production, I strengthened my interest in sustainable chemistry and become motivated to contribute to solutions addressing today’s energy and environmental challenges. My current research on transforming waste-derived nitrite into ammonia is a promising strategy for turning pollution into valuable products. I joined Arcane for its collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, which offers opportunities for learning and exchanging ideas. After my PhD, I aim to pursue a postdoctoral position to further develop my work in sustainable chemistry, while remaining open to industrial R&D opportunities.
