PhD COFUND CALL

Eligibility

The PI and the co-PI of the project should be permanent researchers affiliated to Tec21 and Arcane (e.g., PI of Arcane and co-PI of the other structure, or vice-versa). The project should involve a collaboration between two different laboratories. 

The project must align with the central theme of the Arcane Labex—namely, molecular chemistry—and involve a permanent researcher of the Arcane Labex laboratory: Cermav, Croma, DCM, DPM, GIN, IBS, IAB, Institut Néel, LCBM, LETI, LEPMI, LIPHY, LNCMI, LRB, MEM, SyMMES, or TIMC.

PIs who have benefited in 2025 or 2026 from a UGA PhD funding program are not eligible for the Arcane component.

Framework of the PhD COFUND Call

The PhD Cofund Call will take place in two steps:
- Step 1: Selection of research proposals submitted by the potential PhD supervisors (this call)
- Step 2: Selection of students for the PhD fellowships (call for applications to be launched in November 2026)
The PhD contracts will start in October 2027, with the application and selection process of the PhD fellows starting in November 2026 (step 2).
The EU imposes strict rules regarding the eligibility of candidates (mobility, diploma, etc.) and the selection procedures.
